Podcasts
Use this module if you'd like to post audio (or video) files that can
be automatically downloaded by your students using a podcasting
receiver such as iTunes.
Only teachers can post content to the Podcasts module.
Podcasting is the method of distributing audio or video programs over the Internet for
playback on personal computers or on mobile devices including IPods and
other MP3 players. Although these file types can be distributed
via other Manhattan modules, a podcast is distinguished by its ability
to be automatically downloaded using special software often called a podcast
receiver.
You can record your lectures and post the audio files
to Manhattan's Podcasts module. Your students can then use
software like ITunes
to 'subscribe' to your podcast, and automatically
receive the voice recordings as they are posted. These
recordings can be played back directly on the computer, or can be
transferred to an IPod or other portable music player.
