Grades

The Grades module is used to keep students apprised of their grades for the course.

There are three options available.  Two of these require you to upload a file that contains the grades for the class, while the third is a completely web-based solution.

The Excel TAB delimited file method is for teachers who are comfortable using Microsoft's Excel spreadsheet program to manage their grades.  You can use Manhattan load a roster of your students and their ID numbers into your spreadsheet.  You can then build your grades spreadsheet as you normally would. Then, whenever you want to post your grades to the Manhattan classroom, use Excel's Save As command to save the grades as a "TAB-delimited text file". You then login to Manhattan, enter the Grades module, and upload the file.  Manhattan will distribute the grades to your students, so that each student sees only his or her grades.

The GradeQuick PDF file method supports the use of the commercial GradeQuick software (see http://www.jacksonsoftware.com )
With this method you use the GradeQuick software to manage your grades.  When you would like to make the grades available to your students, you can print either of the "Standard Reports" to a PDF file.  You then login to Manhattan, enter the Grades module, and upload the PDF file.  Manhattan will distribute the grades reports to your students.

Your third option is to use Manhattan's web-based gradebook. This online gradebook is easy to use and provides enough flexibilty to meet the needs of many teachers.
